LARSON DESIGN GROUP, INC. (LDG) is offering the following full-time opportunity in our Beaver & Wexford PA, offices for a motivated, self-starter to join our team. The candidate must be a strong seller, have good connections in the local and regional areas, be able to manage groups, and be entrepreneurial. The Project Manager is responsible for overall management of projects including design, communications, personnel management, budget, schedule, quality control and client communication/ relationship.  The PM will supervise a team of engineers, designers and technicians and provide the team with resources and technical guidance necessary for efficient, profitable, timely and technical project execution. The PM will supervise other supervisors and mentor and develop next level of Project Managers.   Other duties include managing projects and sub-consultants from development of technical and price proposal to design and construction stage as well as supporting client development functions and activities for new and existing clients.

DUTIES

  • Accept and implement the core values of Larson design Group.
  • Coordinate day-to-day tasks to meet project scope objectives.
  • Multi-task on several projects at one time, applying appropriate effort to each.
  • Coordinate design tasks between departments for multi-discipline projects.
  • Perform detailed design and coordinate design elements among project team.
  • Perform simple to complex calculations for project design and permitting.
  • Prepare site investigation, analyses, and technical reports.
  • Review and summarize local, state, and federal regulations to determine project constraints.
  • Prepare accurate contract documents consisting of plan drawings, design computations, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare complete and accurate permit application packages.
  • Prepare clear and concise written correspondence for internal and external circulation.
  • Apply and participate in LDG standard QA/QC procedures.
  • Seal work according to state licensure procedures.
  • Recognize opportunities for new projects and assist PM's with developing leads into new business.
  • Prepare scope of services and fee proposals to successfully secure projects.
  • Develop network of professional contacts through involvement in thought leadership, civic, and technical organizations.
  • Mentor junior staff members and assist with general training efforts of new employees.
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Hydrologic and Hydraulic Software Packages to be used for Site Layout, Grading, Utility, and Stormwater Management Plan design.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer, Registered Landscape Architecture, or Professional Land Surveyor licensure required.
  • 5+ years experience in Civil Engineering and Project Management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Ability to perform design calculations using engineering formulas and methods.
  • Ability to review documents and prepare cost estimates.
  • Research codes and design guidelines and write reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, and schedule commitments is critical.
  • Experience with PA DEP permitting including E&S plans, PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits and storm water management.
