Larson Design Group (LDG) is offering the following full-time opportunity in our Morgantown, WV office for a motivated self-starter to join our team. The Vice President of Business Development must perform as a self-motivated, experienced, and entrepreneurial individual with the ability and drive to have an impact from strategic level market planning to tactical-level pursuits across our dynamic and expanding organization. Through client, community and A/E industry networking, the VP of Business Development will maintain and expand strategic relationships with existing clients and build relationships with targeted new clients. The VP of Business Development must identify leads and opportunities, assess competition, develop strategy and capture plans in collaboration with divisional sell-doers to achieve or exceed the sales, revenue and backlog performance goals established for the corporation. The VP of Business Development will also lead selected strategic pursuits and seek opportunities for leveraging multiple divisions to capture market share.

Duties:

  • Leads business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's overall strategy.
  • Develops and manages the business development and sales process across the corporation.
  • Leads and manages Strategic Initiatives that will grow the LDG core business.
  • Collaborates with the Corporate Development Group, seeks partnerships and potential business acquisitions that align with the corporate strategic plans for growth.
  • Represents LDG to clients, teaming partners and peers at numerous professional meetings and social events.
  • Ensures that Business Development plans are implemented in coordination with the divisional operations and strategic goals.
  • Directs and manages capture plan development; provides input and direction to the Business Development and proposal team in the development of winning marketing strategies.
  • Forms key partnerships with strategic clients impacting the growth of critical business opportunities.
  • Identifies and qualifies opportunities in collaboration with Operational leadership.
  • Collaborates with the corporate communications and marketing group to develop integrated plans.
  • Conducts complex analyses of competitor's products and services.
  • Develops, monitors, and reports metrics for business development and marketing performance goals.
  • Develops marketing materials along with managing promotional efforts related to trade shows and exhibits.
  • Manages the Business Development pipeline and ensures regular updates are made to the opportunity database.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years' experience in the Architecture and Engineering services market across a diverse client portfolio and geography.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and other sales enablement tools.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office operations (MS Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Proficient experience with Federal/DoD involvement.
  • Proficient experience with Miller Heiman.
  • Proficient experience with Shipley.
